Sandra A. Lopez

photo of sandra a. lopezSandra A. Lopez, LCSW, is an Associate Professor in the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston. She has been honored by the National Association of Social Workers for her long history of leadership in that organization at the state and national level, as well as for her contributions to the Social Work profession.

Sandra is a widely recognized presenter, trainer, consultant on several major subject areas, including suicide, grief and bereavement, cultural diversity, social work supervision, ethics, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, and professional self-care. She has provided consultation and training in these areas to thousands of social workers and other professionals.

Sandra's most recent publications include an article on “Cultural and Ethnicity and Its Influence of End of Life Care” in the book When Professionals Weep: Emotional and Countertransference Responses in End of Life Care and an article titled “Honoring Cultural Diversity at End of Life” in the November 2007 edition of Social Work Today. Sandra will address the NAEHCY conference on Monday, November 16, 2009.

William (Bill) Potts-Datema

photo of william (bill) potts-datemaWilliam (Bill) Potts-Datema is Chief of Program Development and Services at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Adolescent and School Health. Prior to that role, Bill was Director of Partnerships for Children's Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, funded by the CDC.

Over his career, Bill has built strategic relationships among higher education, state government, and communities to develop initiatives that enable children and youth to lead longer, happier, and more productive lives.

Bill will address the NAEHCY conference on Tuesday, November 17, discussing key health issues facing homeless children and youth. Bill's session, entitled "Health is Academic" will be an interactive workshop to explore strategies for strengthening the interrelationships between health and academic performance to accelerate student achievement.

Chet W. Sisk

photo of chet w. siskChet W. Sisk is an author, inspirational teacher and empowerment systems developer based in Denver, Colorado. Chet served as CEO of the advertising agency CVO World Wide before specializing in helping people in transition and organizations to become their greatest selves.

Chet has developed a Window Effects Method to teach people a practical and tangible way to live from a place of possibilities and success all the time, described in his book Because You Can. Chet is also the executive producer and host of the nationally syndicated television program Welcome To Life Part II on the CoLours Television Network.

Chet's other books include Seven Steps To Success I Learned From Homeless People, which offers perspective from people who lost everything and lived to tell about it, and his recently released Welcome To Life Part II.
