SUMMARY:March 11 Webinar: Unlocking Title I\, Part D to Support Students Experiencing Homelessness
DESCRIPTION:Federal funding plays a pivotal role in supporting students experiencing homelessness. Yet many programs miss key opportunities to leverage the full range of available resources. \n\n\n\nJoin us on March 11\, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET for a timely webinar: \n\n\n\n“Serving Students Experiencing Homelessness through At-Risk Programs” \n\n\n\nThis session will explore the untapped potential of Title I\, Part D\, Subpart 2—funding specifically designed to support at-risk youth\, including those impacted by homelessness. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how these funds can be strategically applied to support students facing barriers such as: \n\n\n\n\nAcademic failure\n\n\n\nInvolvement in the juvenile justice or child welfare systems\n\n\n\nSubstance use\n\n\n\nEarly parenting\n\n\n\nChronic absenteeism\n\n\n\nGang involvement\n\n\n\nPerforming below grade level\n\n\n\nRe-engagement after dropping out\n\n\n\n\nDespite its wide-reaching benefits\, Title I\, Part D is often underutilized. This session will highlight actionable strategies for effectively accessing and implementing this funding to create meaningful\, high-impact programming. There is significant overlap between youth experiencing homelessness and those served through at-risk programming. For example\, according to Voices of Youth Count\, 46% of youth who experienced homelessness had also been in a juvenile detention facility\, jail\, or prison. Data from the Administration for Children and Families further show strong crossover with youth in foster care. \n\n\n\nThis webinar will be co-presented by experts from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Training and Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Neglected\, Delinquent\, or At-Risk Children and Youth (NDTAC). \n\n\n\nCo-presenters include: \n\n\n\nHeather Denny (U.S. Department of Education) – 2019 NAEHCY State Coordinator of the Year; former Montana State Coordinator for Homeless Education (10 years)\, including six years as Title I\, Part D Coordinator; and former district homeless liaison. \n\n\n\nDan Froemel (NDTAC) – Former Title I\, Part D Coordinator for Tennessee and former facility administrator. \n\n\n\nBoth presenters are former classroom teachers and certified educators and administrators who have served at the school\, district\, and state levels before moving into federal-level leadership. They bring deep\, field-based expertise and practical insight to this conversation. \n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us as we explore these intersecting populations and strategies to strengthen services and elevate student outcomes. \n\n\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email with joining details. \n\n\n\nRegister here:https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_lQ1EhWdzSNOPDI9R22HBwA \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you there.

SUMMARY:March Movers: Aligning Grants and Collaboration to Strengthen Student Support
DESCRIPTION:March Rise & Brew \n\n\n\nMarch Movers: Aligning Grants and Collaboration to Support MV Students \n\n\n\nMarch is a pivotal planning period for McKinney-Vento Programs.  As grant continuations are drafted and federal and specialized programs finalize spring decisions\, the MV liaison’s role is to align systems to support students experiencing homelessness across shifting timelines. \n\n\n\nThis session explores how to use Community Needs Assessment (CNA) insights to inform grant continuations and activate cross-program collaboration and wraparound supports.  We will look at the realities of differing eligibility windows and school-of-origin considerations for MV student transitions. \n\n\n\nDuring this action-packed Rise & Brew Session\, we will explore: \n\n\n\n\nUsing CNA data to strengthen MV Grant writing or MV Grant continuation writing \n\n\n\nWhat strong\, sustainable grant writing looks like as we prepare for next year. \n\n\n\nSpring coordination across Title I\, Title IV\, EL/Dual Language\, Special Education\, CTAE\, and Neglected & Delinquent programs\n\n\n\nDesigning tiered wraparound support models for families and unaccompanied youth\n\n\n\nLeveraging community partnerships and structured round-robin coordination\n\n\n\nClosing system gaps when timelines and program eligibility don’t align\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you on March 24\, 2026\, at 7:30 am for our March Rise & Brew. \n\n\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_A0MKorbqRBS3DYV6EdtzcQ \n\n\n\nHave a question about Rise & Brew? SUMMARY:Strengthening Support for Students in Foster Care
DESCRIPTION:From Placement to Progress \n\n\n\nStudents in foster care often navigate multiple transitions\, from placement changes to school moves\, while processing trauma and maintaining academic progress and stability. \n\n\n\nThis session will focus on the whole child and how schools\, child welfare partners\, and community organizations can work together to create coordinated\, student-centered systems of support. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will explore key ESSA requirements for students in foster care\, including Best Interest Determinations/BIDS\, transportation collaboration\, and immediate enrollment. We will also look at practical strategies to strengthen communication\, clarify roles\, and support students through transitions\, ensuring foster youth have the opportunity to stay connected\, supported\, and prepared forthe next school year. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will shift from a compliance lens to a coordination lens to ensure that students in foster care experience stability\, continuity\, and support along the way. \n\n\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_YtitLBgFRP-qLDbf_tA31A

SUMMARY:Supporting Youth Through Housing Stability: Join NAEHCY for an FYI Voucher Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Schools and education professionals play an important role in efforts to prevent and end youth homelessness. McKinney-Vento liaisons and foster care points of contact are often among the first to recognize when students and young adults are experiencing housing instability or preparing to transition from foster care without stable housing. Join us to learn how FYI housing vouchers can serve as an important resource for eligible youth and young adults. Participants will learn more about FYI voucher eligibility and implementation\, the role of community partners in connecting young people to housing resources\, and ways school systems can strengthen coordination and referrals. The session will also highlight examples of communities where education systems are actively engaged in FYI voucher implementation and cross-system collaboration. This webinar is ideal for McKinney-Vento liaisons\, foster care points of contact\, educators\, housing partners\, and other professionals supporting youth and young adults experiencing housing instability.
