Cal Lopez is the Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth (TEHCY) State Coordinator for the Texas Education Agency. Ms. Lopez joined TEA in 2017 and works in the Highly Mobile and At-Risk Student Programs Divisions in the Office of Special Populations and Monitoring. Prior to her position at TEA, she was the Program Coordinator and McKinney-Vento Liaison for 11 years. Ms. Lopez is respected for her work both in Texas and nationally. She has implemented and scaled several best practices and effective strategies to promote the academic success of students experiencing homelessness.
