Whittney Mitchell’s career has been dedicated to empowering students and youth experiencing homelessness. For the past 15 years, she has worked in the public service sector, providing crucial support to Georgia’s citizens facing homelessness.

In her current role as a McKinney-Vento Grant Program Consultant for the Georgia Department of Education, Whittney collaborates closely with school districts and stakeholders to ensure students experiencing homelessness receive the guidance and resources they need. Her work involves providing technical assistance, professional development, and personalized support to school districts across Georgia, as well as fostering strong partnerships with cross-agency collaborators to deliver coordinated services.

I believe in this work because every youth should have the opportunity to be a scholar and participate in spaces that will empower their future.
