We would love to welcome you to the NAEHCY community! NAEHCY membership connects educators, advocates, government leaders, nonprofit professionals, and others committed to advancing educational equity for children and youth experiencing homelessness.
NAEHCY offers annual Individual, Group, and Student memberships. New members may join throughout the year, and memberships are renewed annually based on the date you join. Registration for NAEHCY’s Annual Conference also includes an annual NAEHCY membership.

Thank you for considering NAEHCY! We welcome opportunities to collaborate with school districts, state agencies, government entities, nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, and other partners to strengthen support for children and youth experiencing homelessness and other vulnerabilities.
To invite a NAEHCY representative to participate in a conference, professional development program, panel, meeting, or other convening, please contact us at info@naehcy.org. When possible, include the proposed date and location, audience, topic or focus, anticipated number of participants, requested role for NAEHCY, and any applicable response deadlines.
Our team will review your request based on its alignment with NAEHCY’s mission, the scope of the engagement, and staff or leadership availability.
NAEHCY welcomes opportunities to help journalists, researchers, content creators, and other members of the media better understand the educational experiences, rights, and needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness.
Please send media and interview requests to info@naehcy.org. To help us respond promptly, include your name and organization or media outlet, the topic of your story or project, the type of interview or information requested, your deadline, and your preferred contact information.

If you or your child is experiencing homelessness or housing instability, educational protections and support may be available through the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
A good first step is to contact the McKinney-Vento Liaison in your local school district. Every public school district is required to designate a liaison to help identify and support students experiencing homelessness. Liaisons can help families and students understand their educational rights, address enrollment barriers, explore school-of-origin and transportation options, and connect with available school and community resources.
If you are unsure who your local liaison is, contact your school or school district and ask for the McKinney-Vento Liaison. You may also contact your State Coordinator for Homeless Education through your State Department of Education.

For community-based assistance with needs such as housing, food, utilities, and other services, you may also dial 2-1-1 in most communities to connect with local resources.
