Student Leadership in Practice and Policy: From Experience to

Join the NAEHCY Postsecondary Education Committee for an engaging webinar that centers student leadership and lived experience as key drivers of change in postsecondary systems. This session will feature student panelists who have experienced homelessness and foster care, sharing insights on the barriers they have navigated and the supports that have made a difference.

Participants will explore how elevating student voice can inform more responsive practices and policies across systems. This session is designed for educators, McKinney-Vento liaisons, service providers, advocates, and partners committed to improving postsecondary access and success. Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Understand how students with lived experience navigate postsecondary systems, including key challenges and supports

Apply insights from student leadership to strengthen practice across systems

Identify strategies to meaningfully engage student voice in shaping policy and programs
